SEVAA IS
The Southeastern Virginia Arts Association is an umbrella organization
founded in 1983 to serve the needs of the African-American arts community
in Hampton Roads.
SEVAA DOES
- sponsor activities that promote and assist artists and cultural
organizations
- work towards increased participation in the arts by African-American
artists and arts organizations
- seek to identify emerging, as well as established, African-American
artists and arts organizations
- serve as a conduit for grants to African-American artists and cultural
organizations that do not meet non-profit status criteria
- serve as a channel of communication for its membership
- work to generate increased support for the arts
THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU
The strength of SEVAA is its dynamic membership. Membership is not limited
to practicing artists. If you are interested in a vital and energetic
community experience, we welcome you.
AREAS OF INTEREST
SEVAA focuses on five disciplines: Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Literary
Arts, and Theatre. Any member may affiliate with one or all of the disciplines.
